I grew up just outside of a small Nebraska town, went to a small Nebraska high school, only to turn around to attend a small private school in central Nebraska. My passion has always been writing short fiction, but that’s been placed on the back burner while I try to figure out what I want to do with my life.

I am currently working on a double major: English with a Creative Writing Emphasis and Publishing. For my career goals, I am pushing myself to look more towards working in publishing of some sort, while writing fiction on the side. I have taken several publishing and editing classes, and I just cannot get enough.

In my free time, which is seldom, I read and write and hang out with my cat and my fiancé. I look forward to the day when I will be able to have a dog and a cute little writing desk, but I am doing pretty well as a college student paying her own way right now.

Besides being a student at Hastings College, I am a crew member at one of the local McDonald’s restaurants and I write for Odyssey. Both positions have become more than just jobs to me. I look forward to going to work every day, just as I enjoy writing and publishing an article every week. I have worked as an Editor-in-Chief for Odyssey, which entails much more than I will say at the moment, but, if you are interested to see what kind of writing I do for Odyssey, please check out my articles here.
